End of year trips

On Tuesday 4th of July, years 4, 5 and 6 went to SI5 SpyMissions in Milton Keynes. SpyMissions is a series of puzzles and challenges set aboard the battle cruiser UNS Steadfast. We travelled by coach and it took approximately half hour to reach the venue. I was really eager to get inside and start the missions.

Our instructor gave us our brief. There was a laptop in front of us. She told us that we were competing against each other and that there is a game and puzzle to solve. To solve the puzzle, we had to crack some codes. By accomplishing this we earned our group points. We were given worksheets that contained questions. The answers were scattered on different walls in a big room. We had to match the correct answers to the questions. The questions were about famous people who were spies. This activity also earned us points for our team. Each year was split into groups of six and there were table numbers. My team was table number two. Each table was taken in one by one on the mission. My team’s turn was second because we were sitting at table two.

The aim of our final mission was to stop our enemy from attacking the people on the battle cruiser. There were lots of codes to remember to access doors on the battle cruiser that allowed us to turn the enemy away. We had ‘jammers’ to jam cameras and there were lasers to avoid. I took responsibility of an object that can explode when activated by the touch of a button. We were allowed to use guns to shoot red dots that allowed us to proceed in the mission. My best part of this mission was to go down a slide to avoid contact with laser beams. The instructor was about to announce the winners. I was eagerly excited to hear who won. The winners were……….. Table 2! Table 2 was my group. I was so happy I won! I am grateful to have won. I realised that the way to earn points is to work as a team because together everyone achieves more! Teamwork leads to success. I think it was a really great time! Together Everyone Achieves More . Haleema, Year 5
