The Salvation Army Trip

On 14th November 2017, Years 5 and 6 visited the charity, Salvation Army. The organisation helps people, provides shelter and serves the needy. They have 128 branches all around the world. We had a lovely short walk there. When we arrived we saw that their food bank was almost empty. Then a nice lady gave us a short presentation about their history and how the charity formed.

Autumn Trips

The Salvation Army have come up with lots of events to raise money for them .They have a lot of services such as lunch services for people who can’t afford to make lunch. They have a boarding house where they teach people ways to make money to look after themselves, a Christmas present appeal, Christmas dinner for the elderly and they even have a family tracking service.

Before we left, some of the year 5s sang a nasheed for some of their guests. The guests were so happy, they asked us to come and visit again. Then we had another short walk back to school. We all enjoyed the trip, and hope to visit again soon.
