The cinema withstands deterioration There were more cinemas in Algeria in the sixties than in the United Kingdom or Egypt, three times more than in Morocco and Tunisia put together. In spite of the cinemas and film distribution being nationalised, the cinema sector lived off its distribution and exploitation rights, taken from entry ticket sales.
