Accreditation Renewal Success!
NVCT’s Nancy Hyde (circled) represented NVCT at the Land Trust
Alliance ceremony recognizing land trusts accredited or renewed in
2014. She shepherded the application through the demanding process.
NVCT was part of the first cohort of land trusts to be accredited in 2008, and proud
to receive accreditation renewal in 2014. “Northern Virginia Conservation Trust has
always strived to establish and meet the highest standards,” says NVCT Board of
Directors Chair Patrick Coady, “and we are pleased to be recognized again in our
20th anniversary year.”
Why the focus on accreditation? “Accreditation provides the public with an
assurance that land trusts continue to meet exceedingly high standards for quality,”
explains Tammara Van Ryn, executive director of the Land Trust Accreditation
Commission. NVCT is one of 285 accredited land trusts of the 1,700 land trusts
across the nation.
Thank you
to our many NVCT supporters. It is your commitment to the land and our community
that helps us do the work of the land trust. We thank our conservation easement donors for your
irreplaceable gift of pre cious open space. We thank all current owners of that land for your ongoing conservation values. And we
are grateful for the generosity of each contributor because your support makes it possible to continue saving nearby nature.
