It is derived from Indian mustard and is characterized by its higher tolerance for heat and drought conditions, especially during the critical flowering and pod filling stage. Bred specifically for the brown and dark brown soil zones, XCEED canola offers growers consistent performance, reduced green seed, improved seed quality and higher yield potential in geographies that typically have a higher degree of risk when growing Brassica napus. With improved pod shatter resistance, XCEED canola also offers producers the added benefits of straight-cut performance. XCEED is bred using the Clearfield canola production system and provides growers an important option to rotate herbicide groups for both resistance and volunteer management. Access to premiums for non-GMO oil further increase the profitability of growing XCEED. CPS’ XCEED breeding program is fully converted to hybrids through the proprietary J-Tech™ system. This helps growers capitalize on higher yield, yield stability and improved early season vigour as seen in other hybrid crops. The benefits of juncea to canola growers in many international markets are numerous and because of that, CPS continues to invest in bringing new XCEED hybrids to market. 9
