Mom’s
Tip
“Don’t worry if your child isn’t
walking or talking before their
first birthday – many of them
don’t, but we all compare
ourselves to the friend whose
child was walking or talking
at a young age. They will all
get there, and then there’ll
be no stopping them!”
This month
What a month this is,
celebrating your baby’s first
birthday! Congratulations!
With all the developing
your baby has done in the
last few months, it is certainly
a time to look in wonder at your
soon-to-be toddler.

Food facts
Now that your baby is one, she
can have cow’s milk and milk
products, honey and softboiled eggs – introduce
these new foods slowly and
make sure your little one
is enjoying them before
progressing.
Play time!
Shape sorters are great for this
age, as it not only captures your
child’s interest of putting things
into other things, but it starts to
introduce the concept of basic
shapes. Chunky wooden puzzles,
baby walkers and anything noisy
or musical are also very popular.
Don’t forget!
Your baby will be due to receive the MMR and
PCV boosters, with the final round of Men C and
Hib due next month. This will mark the end of
immunisations until your child starts school. For
