Where are we with The Maternal, Infant, and Early

Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program?

As you can see by the timeline, we have come a long way thanks to your tireless support and advocacy so far. Check out the infographic to see just how many messages our grassroots supporters have sent on behalf of MIECHV. We have a lot to be proud of.

How do we get to the finish line?

We are currently working to get as many cosponsors as possible on the Strong Families Act, S. 1829. Meanwhile, we are also shifting to an end-game strategy focused on Congressional leadership.

We need everyone’s help to ensure that MIECHV is a top priority for Congress and that MIECHV is included in the final legislative package. Our success is highly reliant on the right legislative package developing and expressing the urgency to Members of Congress to act quickly.

Families across the country are at risk of losing critical home visiting services because MIECHV expired over a month ago. Congress must work quickly to reauthorize MIECHV in a way that preserves flexibility and stability for states and preserves benefits for children and families.

POLICY & ADVOCACY UPDATE

MIECHV supports voluntary, evidence-based home visiting programs that improve outcomes for at-risk families and communities.
