UNSW Indigenous Society Update 4
Farewell to Professor Nakata 6
The UNSW Indigenous Society have had an exciting month, with the ‘Banner Drop’ and ‘Speak
Out’. During April, Nura Gili also hosted a Sponsors Event to thank all of our generous donors.
UNSW and Nura Gili Alumni, Teela Reid, had the oppurtunity to both visit and speak in Parliament
at the ‘NSW Parliamentary Friends of Reconciliation Launch’. April also saw both Grant Maling
and Ryan Ahearne compete in the NSW State Netball Men’s and Mixed Championships. Samara
Hand has recently participated in the Aurora Indigenous Scholars Study Tour to leading
universities in both the US and the UK and is encouraging more UNSW students to apply.
