Mensa
While a genius IQ is nothing to brush past, other forms of measuring intelligence are becoming increasingly accepted across the world. Because of this, Mensa, an organization for people who have
scored in the top 2 percent on one of more than 200 different intelligence tests, has flourished,
with over 120,000 members worldwide.
American Mensa’s headquarters, based in Arlington, allows members, known as Mensans, with
different interests and abilities, to come together with three main goals: identify and foster human
intelligence for the benefit of humanity; encourage research in the nature, characteristics and uses
of intelligence; and provide a stimulating intellectual and social environment for members.
While Mensa can’t guarantee you an increased IQ, members will be sure to find stimulating
conversation and great resources by becoming a part of this North Texas-based global community.
