The massive Perot Museum
in Dallas targets all audiences
M
ost people need more than one
visit to soak in the enormous
Perot Museum of Nature and
Science, located in downtown Dallas.
The 180,000-square-foot museum,
which opened in 2012, offers five floors
of space and 11 exhibit halls featuring
hands-on activities, interactive kiosks,
3D animation and more. The $185 million museum aims to raise local education standards by targeting science, technology, engineering and math fields. The
state-of-the-art building was designed by
2005 Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate
Thom Mayne and Morphosis Architects.
The Perot Museum rivals any of its
kind in the country and marks one of the
largest investments in math and science
education in Texas, funded entirely by
private donations.
