Can I use my own boxes? While we prefer you use our Canned Food Drive boxes to ease the pick-up process, you may also use boxes that are between the size of an average copy paper sized box (17”x10”x8”) and the NTFB Canned Food Drive box (20”x20”x24”). We cannot pickup loose items, items in boxes smaller or larger than the above standards, or items in bags. Please also keep in mind, any boxes we pick up with the donation will not be returned

What should I donate through my Canned Food Drive? When choosing any items to donate to canned food drives, please keep nutrition in mind to help ensure the good health of those in need. We are currently most in need of nutritious foods including Low-Sodium Canned Vegetables, Canned Fruit (In-Juice), Dried or Canned Beans, Canned Tuna or Chicken, Whole-Grain Rice or Pasta, Healthy Cereal, and Peanut Butter.

Does NTFB accept non-food donations? What items are not accepted? To ensure efficiency in our food distribution operations, please do not include any donations of clothing, personal hygiene products, or household items within your Canned Food Drive items. If you have collected these items, we encourage you to donate them to a nearby clothing distribution center. Because of safety standards set by Feeding America, we cannot accept baby foods and formulas, perishable food items (fresh or frozen meats, fresh or frozen produce, dairy products, ice-cream, candy, etc.), or anything in glass containers.

Can NTFB pick up my food donation? Where can I deliver my donation? If your Canned Food Drive collected 250 items or more, we may be able to pick up your donation (Mon-Fri). If you have fewer than 250 items, we ask that you please deliver your donation to either of our campuses (Distribution Center: 4500 S. Cockrell Hill, Dallas, Texas 75236; or Dallas Farmers Market: 1010 S. Pearl Expy., Dallas, Texas 75201). You can also deliver your donation to any of our Partner Agencies (you can find a list at ntfb.org/agencies). Please make sure to contact the location or agency where you are dropping off for hours of operation.

I collected 250 items or more, how can I request NTFB pick up my donation? What should I expect if NTFB is picking up my donation? If you collected 250 items or more, once your Canned Food Drive is complete, you can request a Canned Food Drive pick-up via our website. While we will do our best to accommodate your needs for pick-up timing, because of limited resources, it may take 2-4 weeks for us to coordinate a pick-up of your donation. Please make sure your donation is put into boxes prior to pick-up.
