What is the
Gumnut Eco
Program?
The Gumnut Eco program is a sustainability program
for businesses in the Caravan and Camping industry . A
sustainable business balances their environmental and
social responsibilities while maintaining healthy economic
growth. The Gumnut Eco Program assists businesses
achieve this balance.
All businesses that participate in the program must meet
benchmarked criteria across ten sustainability categories.
These categories represent the environmental, social and
economic requirements for a sustainable business and
include landscaping and site design, water and waste
management, energy efficiency, local community and
culture and safety and emergency response planning.
Research has found that many people are concerned about
the environment and want to reduce their environmental
footprint. While we are happy to be responsible at home,
when holidaying we want to relax and not have to think
about it. By choosing to stay at a “Gumnut” Holiday park,
or purchasing your caravan and camping goods from
“Gumnut” manufacturers and suppliers, you are choosing a
business that is being responsible on your behalf. That way
you and your friends and family can relax and enjoy your
caravan and camping experience.
To find a Gumnut Eco program business, look for the dot
in the Gumnut column in this guide next to the business
listing.
