What is the Gumnut Eco Program ?
The Gumnut Eco program is a sustainability program for businesses in the Caravan and Camping industry . A sustainable business balances their environmental and social responsibilities while maintaining healthy economic growth . The Gumnut Eco Program assists businesses achieve this balance .
All businesses that participate in the program must meet benchmarked criteria across ten sustainability categories . These categories represent the environmental , social and economic requirements for a sustainable business and include landscaping and site design , water and waste management , energy efficiency , local community and culture and safety and emergency response planning .
Research has found that many people are concerned about the environment and want to reduce their environmental footprint . While we are happy to be responsible at home ,
when holidaying we want to relax and not have to think about it .
