Dr . Susan Wyatt Sedwick is a Consulting Associate in the Higher Education and Academic Medical Center Practice of Attain LLC . Dr . Sedwick has over 22 years of experience in university research administration . Prior to joining Attain , Dr . Sedwick served as Associate Vice President for research and Director of the Office of Sponsored Projects at The University of Texas at Austin with responsibility for both pre‐ and postaward research administration with annual research expenditures exceeding $ 630 million . Dr . Sedwick received her doctoral degree in educational leadership with a specialization in higher education administration from Texas A & M University . She is recognized as a leader in the research administration community with specific expertise in human capital and change management , export controls , strategic planning , and developing procedures for managing restricted and classified research .
Mr . Edward Lee , is the Program Coordinator for Historically Black Colleges and Minority Institutions ( HBCU / MI ’ s ) for the Air Force Office of Scientific Research ( AFOSR ) in Arlington , VA , one of the 9 directorates that comprise the Air Force Research Laboratory ( AFRL ). He is responsible for coordinating activities that provide funding support to minority institutions across the nation . Mr . Lee provides leadership , strategic direction , and oversight to universities to help make them aware of opportunities and facilitates introductions and guidance to ensure institutions of higher education are well represented within the minority community . He has a unique way of communicating and can talk to everyone to make them feel special , from students to university Presidents . Mr . Lee is also the Chair of the AFOSR Diversity Council to provide a place where diverse employees strive to foster an environment of acceptance , inclusion , and cooperation . Mr . Lee has worked for the AFOSR since 1997 , initially overseeing the University Research Initiative program . He is now working to enhance communications between HBCU ’ s and MI ’ s to be able to compete for contracts / grants at a larger scale . Working in private industry prior to coming to AFOSR and owning his own business since 1987 , EJL Associates , Ed has helped to establish and support black-owned businesses in the Washington Metropolitan area . Ed is also a graduate from an HBCU , Morgan State University in Baltimore , Maryland .

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS AND ASSOCIATIONS : Blacks in Government External Advisory Board Member with Jackson State University , Governmental Advisor to the Minority Serving Institutions and Research Partnership Consortium .
Pam Hawkins serves as Branch Chief in the National Science Foundation ' s Division of Grants and Agreements . She has over 35 years of NSF experience encompassing the review , negotiation and oversight administration of award instruments that help facilitate and support a variety of disciplines within NSF , i . e ., Directorate for Mathematical and Physical Science , Directorate for Biological Sciences , and the Directorate for Education & Human Resources . Her concentrated efforts includes Tribal Colleges , Community Colleges and Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the Education and Human Resources Directorate . Ms . Hawkins leadership efforts in these areas ensure that the programmatic objectives of these NSF Directorates are achieved and all business and administrative requirements are met .
Ms . Hawkins has participated in many national conferences and workshop on pre and post award management . Ms . Hawkins earned a bachelor ’ s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from University of Maryland , University College .
