GUEST SPEAKER Jerry Lett CPA, State of Georgia, May 1998-Present Post Graduate, Georgia State University and Southern Polytechnic State University MBA Operations Research/Management Science, University of Michigan, April 1979 MBA Accounting, Western New England University October 1979 BSBA Accounting, University of Nebraska, May1972 Mr. Lett has held the rank of Principal Research Associate since promoted at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) in July 2010. During his thirty-two years at Georgia Tech and GTRI, Mr. Lett has been a leader in the areas of cost and management information systems, research administration, proposal preparation and pricing, and project & financial management. He has been a leader and principal contributor to all major research contractual efforts and all proposals submitted by GTRI. He has a professional license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Georgia. He is a retired officer from the U.S. Air Force with assignments to Lockheed Martin and Boeing Aircraft. During his entire appointment at GTRI, Mr. Lett has sought opportunities to promote collaboration between Georgia Tech and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and promote the economic and technological health of the state of Georgia. Mr. Lett has been an advisor to the President, Morris Brown College, on methods to increase the number of Dual Degree minority and cooperative students from the Atlanta University Center HBCUs. Mr. Lett has been an advisor to the President, Fort Valley State University (FVSU), Savannah State University, South Carolina State University and Fayette State University to establish an estimating and pricing system that would increase the amount of research at those institutions.
