Several of their players won places in the combined U17 and U23 team that beat the New Zealand U23 team in a “ friendly ” at the end of the championship . But there was also satisfaction in the way the young sportsmen grew on the trip . “ We had a very diverse group , across all areas of experience , geographic location , age and personality ,” Jillian said . “ To see the maturity of the group grow as they came together as a unit , was very pleasing for me . “ By the end of the week , they were more like brothers .” She accepted the 3Bde Public Affairs Officer posting beginnning last month with a smile , because it was a move the family wanted to make . She still loves netball , and , having coached since she was 14-years-old , will inevitably find a way to be involved .
