3rd Brigade’s Innovation Day
LT Rudge demonstrates the sort of vehicle 2RAR landing troops might fi nd serviceable in the future
There were 27 good ideas
presented and all of them
were developed by soldiers on
the ground to try to address
a problem, or to improve
their ability to do their job.
Some of the ideas were pleas to
the senior planners in Army to
consider particular problems as
new equipment was considered.
They included an idea to
incorporate provision in new
uniforms for Armoured Corps
troops to make use of protective
inserts similar to that used
in the motorcycle industry.
LT Rudge 2RAR asked
the generals to consider an
amphibious vehicle that looked
like the sort of golf buggy “Q”
would supply to James Bond.
MAJ Nick Kelly 1RAR
demonstrated the innovative
way in which the Battalion
was extending the Fight Light
initiative using ATVs to carry
water and ammunition.
