and clean amenities.
You may get visitors
wanting to share in your
feast, including kookaburras,
scrub turkeys and goannas.
As Mount Elliot is a part
of the Cape Bowling Green
National Park, usual rules
apply - it’s open from 6.30am
to 6.30pm, no dogs or cats
are allowed, and pre-pay
camping fees online.
There are some things to be
mindful of when visiting.
Water levels can rise
quickly when it rains.
There may be snakes active
or near paths, no glass is
allowed in the swimming holes,
and mobile phone coverage
is generally poor... fairly
typical things to watch out
for when we’re going bush.
Alligator Creek is
seriously close - it’s only
a few minutes drive.
It can be either a beaut way
to spend a whole weekend,
or a place for just hanging
out for a few hours after the
kids have fi nished school.
It’s the perfect place to get
rid of some energy, do some
rock climbing and swimming,
while getting back to Nature.
Just head south on the Bruce
Highway for a few minutes,
turn right at Alligator Creek
Road, and follow it to the end.
BYO snacks and drinks.
