Leading up to NPW 2017, North Range
Behavioral Health in Greeley, CO, leveraged
numerous natural opportunities to promote
prevention, including creating a prevention
display at the local library, reinforcing prevention
messages during a Cinco de Mayo parade planned
by local high school students, and securing
proclamations officially marking NPW in Colorado.
In Raymond, NH, Raymond Coalition for
Youth provided information and resources and
coordinated multiple events around the state
during NPW 2017.
Greater Hartford Harm Reduction Coalition in
Connecticut was featured as part of Connecticut
Public Television’s Life Lessons: Facing Down
Opioid Addiction, a live event that included a panel
discussion to dispel myths about opioid use and
prevention.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church
Health Ministry in Washington, DC, hosted a
family fun day at a local park during NPW to raise
awareness about prevention and the resources
available to the local community.
Recover Alaska in Anchorage, AK, spread the
prevention message by securing an interview
on the local news channel to discuss ways the
community can get involved and do their part to
prevent substance use.
In Harbor Springs, MI, SAFE in Northern
Michigan participated in a mental health fun run
in support of NPW 2017.
