Every month, Unleash will feature a mix made by a local DJ. Overseen by Boardroom member DJ Spencer Lee, the goal is to highlight some of the different styles of DJs that call Anchorage home and provide readers with some jams to inspire their work day.

This month’s mix is another from DJ Spencer Lee himself. Spencer fancies himself an open-format DJ, which means he’ll work his way across genres, playing everything from Motown classics to TV theme songs, golden-era rap and nu-disco. On this one he plays house music. “A while back I started a series of 10-song recordings. The limited track listing keeps me from over-thinking things and I’ve been able to come up with some really fun mixes. Since they’re all 10 tracks long, I decided to call them “Dime Pieces.” This one was inspired by End of Summer Camp, The Boardroom’s weekend camp for adults. I picked 10 housey cuts for a mix that'll work equally well as a soundtrack for a winter drive or hike, watching the Northern Lights and - of course - something to get loose to after a long day.
