costs and speeds within the municipality are not a boon for business nor are they attractive for trying to entice future industry and startups. Since we are so integrated with the Mat-Su, a regional vision would do wonders for greater Anchorage, opposed to each community working as silos. Perhaps as initial infrastructure costs are paid down, private company’s broadband prices will decline as well. Regardless, improving the Metro Anchorage’s connectivity is imperative moving forward—particularly as Alaska attempts to economically diversify—and a little innovative competition never hurts.
