European History!

Livery Company Appointments
J Roundell (F, 65-69) writes:
As there is a spirit of competition alive
amongst City Livery Companies (TS118),
I feel compelled to inform you that I was
elected Master of the Grocers’ Company in
July 2014. The Grocers are second in the
Order of Precedence; the Drapers, Master
NA Bence-Trower (A, 70-75), being third!
Unfortunately I didn’t follow in the
footsteps of five successive generations, as I
can offer only my father CWR (F, 25-30)
who was Master Grocer in 1972. However
the OW succession is assured as CG
McAndrew (Coll, 75-78) is my Second
Warden and will become Master in July
2015, thus continuing successfully to
interrupt a line of Old Etonians.
