as 2016 proved to be for the Notre Dame Knights and Lady Knights.

Notre Dame athletic squads boasted state champions, playoff contenders and plenty of regular-season success. From the time two-a-days began, until the final finish line was crossed at the TAPPS state track tournament, our student-athletes enjoyed great success on the fields of play.

The boys in blue & gold capped off another amazing year on the gridiron with a return to the TAPPS state championship football game. They fell valiently short in a 65-54 loss to Baytown Christian.

The Lady Knights volleyball team continued its run of winning seasons under head coach Lisa Macha, finishing second in district and advancing to the Area playoff round.

Both the boys and girls basketball teams claimed district titles, with the Knights falling one-game short of the state tournament. The Lady Knights bowed out in the Area round.

The baseball and softball diamonds at NDCS also saw continued progress with both qualifying for the playoffs.

Tennis had three different doubles teams make the trip to the state tournament under first-year head coach Brad Prigmore.
