PWGA NOTES & QUOTES |
Look, the games difficulty gets to all of
us. Please understand we know what
you are going through. The game is
hard. You don’t have to explain
yourself to your partner with an “I
really don’t know what’s happening
today” “or I’m usually not this bad”.
Keep your head up and a smile on your
face. Gloat a little when you hit a good
shot and laugh off the bad. You’re
outdoors so try to enjoy your day, just
enjoy yourself at a tidy pace!!

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone
at the Major Tournaments this year. I
work with a Committee of members
who are very knowledgeable in the
Rules of Golf and I value their
assistance in officiating the major
tournaments. Each year they continue
their ongoing education by attending a
Rules of Golf workshop either with
USGA or NCGA. They volunteer their
time on the course by assisting the
players in the Rules of Golf should a
situation arise. I would like to add
members to my committee so if you
enjoy the Rules of Golf, are actively
involved as a Rules chairperson with
your club or your area, please email
me your information and I would be
happy to discuss the duties of the
committee with you.
Thank you,
Andi Bristow

Hello from
Stockton!
by
Patti Soiseth
Here we go again! Welcome to the 2015
PWGA golf season. It's time to dust off
your clubs and come to one (or all!) of
our play days. Your participation in last
year’s play days allowed us to contribute
$400.00 to the Junior Girls Golf
Program. My goal is to reach $500.00
this season. I would like to encourage
you to bring some members along that
do not normally attend play days.
Sometimes women can be intimidated
by playing in tournaments but with our
encouragement we might be able to get
some "newbies" out on the course!
I would also like to thank all of those
that attended our workshop in February.
Everybody looked awesome in their red
attire! Due to your generosity (and some
great raffle prizes) we were able to raise
over $800.00 for the American Heart
Association. Our guest speakers, Shelly
McGill and Monty Merrill got us up and
out of our seats to demonstrate the
benefits of stretching
before a round of golf,
they were informative
and provided attendees
with lots of very useful
material.
My first year as the
Stockton Area Director
went by so fast. I hope I lived up to all
your expectations and look forward to
another great year. As always, I would
not be able to do what I do without my
right hand girl Nancy Haug. Here's to
another great year and hope to see more
of
you
on
the
golf
course!
