In the early part of 2014 we
ran a programme of tutorial
and publishing support for
five aspiring writers about
art in Scotland.

Anyone can write about
art these days, but there’s
a skill to doing it well and
more pressure than ever to
stand out from the crowd.
Our project offered the
participants a structured
opportunity to learn the
tools of the trade, under
the expert guidance of
three experienced tutors.

places we’ve been in 2014,
running talks and professional
development seminars on
topics that ranged from
trends in digital curatorship
to what art might have to
offer our health, healing
and well-being. Nearly 1,000
people took part.

In fact, so many people
signed up for our symposium
about ‘Artists working with
museum collections’ at the
National Museum of Wales in
May 2014 that we had to move
it into a much larger venue.
“A powerhouse of a day” was
