In my drawings the process is a bit different as support and medium changes, technique changes. I work with watercolors, all kind of inks, charcoal, soft pastels, conte, Graphite, Pencils Chalk on Paper. I always start drawings with some quick ink washes on paper as I cannot start dialogue with white empty surface so I have to paint it first and then I use lines to create some forms. Photo ink is a beautiful medium, I find, to create textures as this ink is not permanent and u can lift it with brush and water after applying this. You can find some textures of broken lines and leaf in almost all works I have created with this.

Now a days I am working with different inks on different kind of paper, trying to get positive results according the nature of paper creating some textures. Once I get the results I am looking for those textures to use in my future works.

How do you see the relationship between emotional and intellectual perception of your work? In particular, how much do you consider the immersive nature of the viewing experience?

As I described above about my philosophy of life and philosophy of art. Which arouses my spirituality as well as intellectual power. Spirituality in art is the emotional side of art when intellectuality helps you to think in a way to develop your art. Both are inseparable elements. Work is successful when the both work together.

Thanks a lot for your time and for sharing your thoughts, Shrutika. Finally, would you like to tell us readers something about your future projects? How do you see your work evolving?

Thank you for this beautiful conversation and your significant questions. I would like to share about few of my future projects. In April I am participating in World art Dubai and soon I am going to have a solo exhibition in Dubai. End of this year I am curating an exhibition African and Indian Artists in Dubai. I found a connection in our practices and in style of creating forms though none of us has worked together and we all are staying in different continents still we have a connection in our art which amazed me a lot. I will share more updates about this exhibition on my FB page once everything fall on its place.

I have a project of 45 feet long painting and I have drawings ready for that waiting for the good opportunity to execute it.

There are two ways of evolving: First art has to break its own boundaries and it has to get mature, more relevantā€¦development of art itself is an evolution. Secondly it has to evolve politically, socially and how the people are receiving it. I believe my work is evolving in both ways.
