ALL THINGS Keeping your Customers with credit card payments! Party! happy What happens when you take a card payment from your Customer? Ensure your Customers are not inconvenienced by understanding the process. When you add a card payment to an order, this ‘freezes’ an amount on their account for approximately 5 days or until you submit the order – whichever comes first. You will see this amount as pre-authorised when viewing the order before you submit. It is important to understand what happens if an order changes or if you wish to change the payment. 1. Add payment to order – this places a hold on the Customer’s money. However, no money is actually debited when a card pre-authorisation takes place. The Customer will see this as a ‘pending’ transaction on their account. 2. Submitting the order - the funds on hold are ‘captured’, which is then converted to a charge. 6 MISSION . party tips
