When Aerospace Experience Becomes Art
I
t’s another humid morning on a
Michigan farm. Once again, to break
the monotony and drudgery of the
field work, I daydream and find myself
watching the yellow Piper Cub fly a
lazy route over our fields.
As a twelve year old boy I dream of
playing baseball for the Chicago Cubs
and wonder what it’s like to fly. If
only I could fly! What would it be like
to escape the earthbound gravity that
holds me to the fields of vegetables —
to feel the freedom of flight, with just
a piece of aluminum between me and
the ground?
