Arist Rick Herter When Aerospace Experience Becomes Art I t’s another humid morning on a Michigan farm. Once again, to break the monotony and drudgery of the field work, I daydream and find myself watching the yellow Piper Cub fly a lazy route over our fields. As a twelve year old boy I dream of playing baseball for the Chicago Cubs and wonder what it’s like to fly. If only I could fly! What would it be like to escape the earthbound gravity that holds me to the fields of vegetables — to feel the freedom of flight, with just a piece of aluminum between me and the ground? 64 NORTHWEST AEROSPACE NEWS
