Living in deep space someday Hoyt said that he doesn’t envision living on the ISS in the future, but instead, with the concept of building in space, he would like to live in deep space. They have created a new product called the Trusselator, which launches spools of carbon fiber deposits to create structures in space. From a truss, Hoyt said, they can make a building structure. “We are trying to make an office building in space; customers can come up, plug in their payloads and do business in space.” He said that NASA is planning a 20-meter tele- scope that would allow them to obtain images of planets circling other stars, and Tethers hopes to support that effort in the future. For now, Hoyt said, “It’s a lot of fun, with challenging technol- ogies.” Porter said if she had the option of living and working in space, “I wouldn’t turn it down.” Tethers Unlimited, Inc. 11711 North Creek Parkway South, Suite D-113 Bothell,WA 98011-8804 Voice: (425) 486-0100 Fax: (425) 482-9670 [email protected] Clean Air Wherever You Are Premium Air Filtration for Oil Mist and Oil Smoke [email protected] www.absolent.com FEBRUARY | MARCH 2019 ISSUE NO. 7 15 World leaders in industrial air filtration
