Skelly said today’s plant has capitalized on its significant FAA certification knowledge base and aircraft modification background, “To develop innovative aircraft interiors opti- mization and space saving solutions.” Today’s plant specializes in finding ways to save space inside the cabin, allowing for more revenue-generating seats for the airlines. One example: engineers at the plant came up with an “advanced-wall” lavatory, which allows for another row of seating.
