A lvarado said that developing the business model and IP portfolio along with the technology has proven to be the right approach and one of the things that gives Continuous Composites a competitive advantage over the big guys. “It doesn’t take long before they realize Continuous Composites is a solid business with a highly qualified technical team who are domain experts in this field,” he asserted. Swallow has politely reminded a few bigger players whose approach was less than respectful, “This isn’t our first rodeo. We are looking for win-win relationships and we are play- ing the long game. While ‘waiting us out’ might be a strategy that works with others, we are not interested in participating.” Continuous Composites has several projects in the aerospace industry and is working with top industry players including Tier 1 and 2 aerospace suppliers and top De- partment of Defense (DOD) contractors. “Quite a bit of the demand for our technol- ogy has come from the aerospace sector,” said Alvarado, “And they are basically pay- ing for our attention and a seat at the table.” DECEMBER | JANUARY 2019 ISSUE NO. 6 15
