NYFS serves over 4,000 people every year through mental health counseling, day treatment programs, senior chore services and juvenile diversion programming. Solid Ground is a local nonprofit that prevents and ends homelessness for families with children through housing, resources and opportunity. Solid Ground operates a variety of supportive housing programs throughout suburban Ramsey and Washington Counties, serving over 100 families each year. Solid Ground holds tours on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Email [email protected] or call 651-846-9027 to RSVP today! The Closet is a dedicated space in the White Bear Lake Area Schools district, housed in the ALC (Area Learning Center) where families in need can come in and browse through clothing, coats, shoes etc. (anything that can be worn head to toe) for their students. WBLAS students can shop for items, free of charge. Last year, The Closet served 88 families, including 264 children from infant age to adults. Over 30 volunteers donate their time. WBLAEF appreciates the support of the community! (The students in the photo are from a Birch Lake Elementary Student Council blanket-making gathering, which benefitted The Closet.)
