EVOLVING TOGETHER It is important for Century College to evolve together with faculty across disciplines, business, and industry while working to build and deliver the Applied Technology Center. Simenson believes this collaborative approach will set up the Advanced Technology Center, and Century College, to continue inspiring, preparing and empowering students in a changing world. The objective of the new area is to create classrooms, tutoring, and faculty and student study spaces centralized by department. “This is very much a collaborative effort between multiple academic departments,” said Simenson. “It’s not a laboratory just for engineering or just for technology.” A consistent organization of departments in this way, as opposed to a scattered arrangement, will allow related departments to develop interdisciplinary relationships and create synergy among related programs. Outside of communication between academic departments, Century College will make sure to utilize input from the administration, faculty, and an external business and industry advisory committee.
