Then, these indi- viduals are invited to attend FODA and start their careers in the dental field. Bethany and Amanda are excited to see the climate of hiring in DFW change over the next few years because of ini- tiatives like FODA. The Office Manager Academy is designed for both those aspiring to be managers as well as existing man- agers. “Managers have one of the hardest jobs. They have to expertly encourage and manage their team, support all of the doctor’s visions, monitor practice trends and make adjustments as needed, and positively handle upset patients. They need courses designed specifically for them, and that is what we’ve created,” adds Bethany. Bethany and Amanda firmly believe that they have the most rewarding job in the world. “When you have a client text you ‘Sitting in a class and taking a moment to reflect – I love you two. Y’all have made such an impact on my life and thereby on my staff and patients lives. Thank you so much for what you do and how you do it’ – that’s all we need to keep going and to keep innovatively serving our clients. It’s why we do what we do,” notes Bethany. Bethany grew up in the dental field where she had the privilege of helping her father’s practice grow into a large and healthy operation. Her graduate degrees in both adult education and health communication have equipped her to fully serve her consulting clients as well as all dental professionals. Her goal is to break out of the abrasive consultant persona and provide practical and positive help to practice owners and their teams. She has enjoyed serving clients with Bethany Dental Consulting for over eight years. Amanda graduated from Louisiana Tech Uni- versity with her B.S. in education before mov- ing to North Texas in 2001. She began her career as a teacher and then soon found her way into the dental field 17 years ago. She has mastered numerous aspects of the dental prac- tice and is passionate about sharing her knowl- edge with fellow dental colleagues and those new to the field. Her passion for dentistry cou- pled with her teaching background has served her consulting clients as well as course atten- dees over the past two years.
