at the
Dental Health Arlington
Golf Tournament
Dental Health Arlington hosted their First
Annual Golf Tournament on September 29th
at Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth. Dental
Directions was the Gold Sponsor, and more
than 20 community and dental professionals
also sponsored at various levels.
The players began the afternoon by enjoying
a great lunch donated by Barnes Barbecue
and Catering and North Collins Chick-Fil-A.
What followed was a great day of scramble
golf which included “interactive holes” where
the players were required to drive the ball on
their non-dominant side, strike the ball with
children’s clubs and even don a tutu, wings
and tiara to hit from the ladies tees. The
players had the option to “pay up” if they
chose to pass on these activities.
Players were treated to goodie bags donated
by Dental Directions, filled with sponsor
donated snacks and promotional items.
Kristina Anderson of Ebby Halliday cruised the
course offering water and additional snacks
while Crest/Oral B provided a beer keg.
The Essential Endodontics team came in
1st place and the team sponsored by Karlyn
Rasmussen-Dodd, one of our Board Mem-
bers, came in 2nd place with one of the play-
ers, Tim Castle, making a hole-in-one on
Hole #12!
The Reverse Raffle added to the funds raised
that day and the two winners split $500.
The funds raised from this event go directly
to support the DHA clinic and the Award-
winning SMILES School Program. The clinic
serves low-income patients in Tarrant
County, while the SMILES Program serves
more than 10,000 children in 40 plus Title I
schools by providing visual screenings,
fluoride varnish and sealants.
