UPDATE:
Dental Health Arlington
is on the move!
Our new address after November 1st will
be 501 W. Sanford St., Suite 11 Arlington,
Texas 76011.
We are about a third of the way through
the campaign ($126,000) and covering
construction costs but still need to continue to upgrade our equipment.
Reaching our Capital Campaign goal will
allow us to purchase new dental equipment, add comfortable waiting room
chairs and buy computers. It will allow us
to fulfill the new mandate for every dental
office to move to electronic dental records.
Our goal is to be a resource for people
where there often is none. We would like
to offer our low income residents a nice
place to come, to have a pleasant dental
experience, and to be treated with dignity.
Could you spare
$100, $1,000, $5,000
or $10,000?
Your generous
donation
will help us save DHA!

The Texas Academy of
General Dentistry is
thrilled to receive the
national Constituent of
the Year Award!
The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD)
presented the Texas Academy of General
Dentistry (TAGD) with the national Constituent of the Year Award at the annual
AGD conference in Boston. The Constituent of the Year Award recognizes the
constituent who displays strength in each
area of constituent activity representing
governance and administration, continuing education, communication, membership and public information.
TAGD also accepted awards for their advocacy, communications, continuing education and public information programs.
TAGD President, Dr. James Bone, and the
Texas Delegates received these awards on
behalf of the organization.
Applications for the awards are accepted
from state constituents around the country
as well as Canada and require intensive
documentation to earn each award. TAGD
is proud that it has received the highest
honor – Constituent of the Year – nine
years in a row.
“The Texas Academy of General Dentistry,
passionate in helping general dentists succeed, is again honored and excited to be
recognized nationally as the Constituent of
the Year.” said Dr. Bone. “Our members
are awesome! Their accomplishments in
Fellowship, Mastership and Lifelong
Learning, as well as, their efforts in leadership, mentorship and advocacy help
make TAGD great!”

48 Texas AGD members
receive high honors
A total of 48 Texas Academy of General
Dentistry members were honored with the
presentation of Fellowship, Mastership,
and Lifelong Learning & Service Recognition
Awards during the convocation ceremony
at the 2016 Academy of General Dentistry
(AGD) Annual Meeting in Boston.
Twenty-nine members distinguished
themselves professionally by completing
500 hours of continuing dental education,
passing a comprehensive exam and fulfilling three years of continuous membership
in the AGD in order to earn their
Fellowship. Only 6% of general dentists
hold their Fellowship in the State of Texas.
An additional 15 members were awarded
the AGD Mastership Award, the highest
honor available at the AGD and one of the
most respected designations within the
dental profession. To accomplish this goal,
each completed at least 1,100 hours of continuing dental education. Mastership
reflects a general dentist’s ongoing commitment to providing quality patient care
through continuing education. Fewer than
1% of general dentists in the entire nation
and only 2% in the State of Texas have
earned this designation.
Joining only 22 others in Texas who have
earned this rare honor, four members
