Fun and family are a big part of life for the Hildebrands.
developed by Dr. Jesse Bullard who served as the program’s director until 1985.
“Dr. Bullard was a great educator and a consummate professional who inspired me tremendously – I have such enormous
respect for what he created both at Baylor in the prosthodontic
program as well as in private practice. When he began to consider the transition into retirement, I knew it would be a winwin to purchase the practice and provide a place where he could
continue working for as long as he wished, free from the stress
of managing the office.” Dr. Hildebrand took over the practice
and continued the legacy of Dr. Bullard’s highly successful
approach to patient care.
“I knew Dr. Hildebrand as a skilled and conscientious young
dental student in the prosthodontics program,” Dr. Bullard
recalls. “When I began to consider retirement, I looked carefully
for the right person to take over. I had confidence that the practice I had worked to build over my long career would be in good
hands with him. I stayed on during the transition to ensure that
everything went as smoothly as possible, and when I was finally
ready to hand off the baton, I felt so good about my choice.”
Dr. Hildebrand notes, “At this point, I could not have been more
honored to be able to continue the legacy and hard work of both
Drs. Thornton and Bullard in their longstanding tradition of
excellence in patient care and education. Little did I know, even

more excitement at building the team for patient care and education was ahead!”
Practice #4 - The Surgical and Esthetic Addition
Dr. Kevin McBride, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, who
worked as a team with Dr. David Hildebrand, spent five years
looking for the right person to take the helm before he sold his
practice. “Over my 40 years in practice, I had built relationships
with my patients and their families,” he notes. “I cared deeply
about continuity and preserving the legacy of quality I had
worked to establish. I wrote a letter to the fellows in cosmetic
surgery programs explaining what I was looking for, and
Dr. Randy Sanovich responded. He called the next day and flew
in to Dallas to meet with me. By then, I had interviewed seven
well-qualified surgeons, but none matched my list of ideals and
goals for the practice that had been my life for so many years.
At our initial meeting, I could tell Randy was the ideal choice.
His surgical expertise, compassion, personality, interest in
patients, and passion for dentistry, all perfectly matched the list
of qualities I wanted in a candidate. I stayed on for two fantastic
years and helped transition my patients to his care, which I
believe really ensured that the integrity of the practice
was maintained.”
“Dr. McBride’s practice was a good match for me as well,”
Dr. Sanovich notes. “He was well-known for cosmetic dentistry
