As she is quick to point out, Dr. Kuba is
especially grateful for her educational
path because it prepared her for any situation. “I recall an appointment for a
patient with autism. He was accompanied
by his parents, who had difficulty finding
a dentist to see their son. However,
because of my training and experience,
I was unfazed by his atypical behaviors.
I was able to make him comfortable and
treated him without sedation. His parents
were greatly relieved that their son was
able to receive the dental care he needed
in a safe and compassionate setting.”
Rather than addressing all patients with
the same approach, Dr. Kuba believes in
the critical importance of individualizing
care. Her soft spoken demeanor helps to
put her patients at ease, and encourages
parents and patients to open up to her.
