The diagnostic wax-up was impressed to make a solid model to be used in fabricating a vacu-formed stent. This was then used to verify adequate coronal reduction in all dimensions, and also to fabricate the chairside acrylic provisional restorations. A single-piece chairside acrylic provisional restoration was fabricated using Integrity Temporary Crown & Bridge Material by Dentsply-Caulk, with LuxaGlaze High Gloss Temporary Varnish. Steve’s restorations were fabricated using E.Max crowns for all his anterior teeth and premolars (for maximum esthetics), and Zirconia crowns for all his molars (for maximum strength). All restorations were bonded in place using Calibra Resin Cement by Dentsply-Caulk, and a night guard was fabricated for future protection. All expectations were not just met, but ultimately exceeded, with respect to restored esthetics and function. Steve chose shade B1 for his provisional restorations, and wore them for one week to allow him time to evaluate his chosen shade, new tooth proportions, restored facial esthetics, and phonetics. After one week Steve returned to the office and we impressed his provisionalized upper arch to send to the lab to have a three-dimensional model of his verified incisal edge position and overall teeth proportions. After fabricating and placing Steve's new upper final restorations in his chosen shade of 1M1, his lower restorations were designed and fabricated to correspond to his newly-restored upper arch and determined vertical dimension.
