NEWS & notes Nancy Manion Blinn Named Executive Director of Dental Health Arlington Nancy brings 30 plus years of experience in the dental field to head up operations at DHA. Nancy has a clinical background as a Registered Dental Hygienist with Pediatric, Hospital, Special Needs and Public Dental Health as her specialties. In addition to clinical, she has leadership and legislative experience with the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association and locally with Greater Fort Worth Dental Hygienists’ Society. She has served on various committees over the years. She is a Past President of TDHA and GFWDHS. Nancy had been living in the Northeast with her husband and daughter but recently relocated to her hometown. As a longtime resident of Arlington and a Dental Hygiene Graduate of Tarrant County College, she is very excited about aligning herself with Dental Health Ar- lington and their desire to help the underserved, low income area residents.“I am excited to be able to give back to my community that I grew up in, there is such an incredible need for clinics and sealant programs like the one DHA provides.” Dental Health Arlington serves approximately 8,781 children in 29 area schools in Arlington and Mansfield by providing OHI, Screenings and Sealants in the SMILES (Sealing Molars Improves the Lives of Every Student) Program. DHA also has a low cost dental clinic staffed partially by employees but also by volunteer dentists, hygienists, assistants and students that treat the low income patients that don’t have Medicaid or dental insurance.
