N Advocacy 4 GAINESVILLE 7 BOWIE 14 Air Monitors At the direction of the Texas Legislature and in collaboration with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the North Texas Commission has continued to operate and expand the North Texas Air Monitoring Network. The network is composed of 21 air quality monitoring stations across the greater North Texas area. In addition to taking standard meteorological readings, the stations also measure 85 different air pollutants. Companies that place one of the “AFV-Preferred” parking signs in their lot are eligible for points toward LEED clean building certification. The parking spaces will be incorporated into a smartphone app for AFV drivers that was created as part of the NTx Apps Challenge.
