I guess you can say… Caddis are pretty important. Beyond specific Caddis flies, we have some general nymphs and attractors that can work as caddis imitations. A size #14 Stimulator or a basic Hares Ear have fooled many trout intent on eating caddis. There are a variety of Caddis flies that hatch though out the season. From the little black #18s to the giant October #8s, with lots of #14 and #16s in between. The most recognized adult caddis pattern is the Elk Hair.
