LOCAL CADDIS PICKS X-Caddis Olive Swink’s Core Brown Elk Hair Black OMAK KEEP IT SIMPLE W hen fishing the small creeks in the area, I’ve found that the simple patterns are the best. I have 3 caddis patterns that I use most of the time. The Elk Hair caddis with a black body #14, the #16 X-Caddis in olive and a #16 Swink’s Core Caddis in brown. I also will use one of these as a trailer behind a hopper pattern or one of my foam bugs. We don’t get large hatches of any one type of caddis with the exception of the fall October caddis. I keep a good supply in my box whenever I hit the local waters. We have a full selection of the Elk Hair caddis in olive, brown, black and tan. #14 to #16s. In the XCaddis, color-wise we have them in olive, brown and tan, #14 10 #16s. The Swink’s Core caddis come in the brown and chartreuse in #16.
