NOAH _ Ethnographic District

ARMENIA SOUTH

The Southern region , within the Ethnographic District , is planned on the highest area on-site , making use of the contoured elevation to re-create the morphology of terraces and horizontal built form that refers to Meghri urban landscape . The streets are intimate , the buildings low , the landscape lush . The ground floors are occupied by restaurants on the main spine vs . artisan shops and workshops further north , rendered with contemporary frontages . The upper floors are planned as artisan studios , homes or small boutique hotels . These have traditional elements such as timber balconies ( in Goris style ) overlooking the streets and activities . House museums , representing the Syunik region and museum dedicated to mining capture key vistas . A monastery style building houses a vineyard and allotments to showcase local produce , which is exhibited and sold in the food market in the square connecting to the Dalma mall .
