ROSETTA HOLMES in her own words: I grew up traveling with my family of ten, My father built concrete dome houses and we, as his children were his crew. We were on the road a lot of the year but we loved being able to see new things, meet new ppl and just grow closer together as a family. When I was 19, a photographer I knew decided to upgrade her camera and gave me her old one (A Nikon D3100), She told me that if I learned how to use it then I could be her second shooter for weddings. So I set out to learn everything I could about the camera, shooting with it and becoming the very best second shooter I could. It only took me a few short days to realize that I was falling in LOVE with photography, but I had an intense desire to bring something new to the table, to make a mark and create things that people would love and that would get them ( and myself) to step out of their comfort zone, to explore and discover weird and amazing things! I have to be honest, through this journey I have been very tempted to give up because of lack of funds, equipment, availability of locations, lack of creativity, lack of interest from other people, discouraging comments from people, people not wanting to buy the kind of art I wanted to make and the list goes on. There will always be something that will threaten to stop you, people will always think differently than you may, but it comes down to ignoring all of it and pressing on. I am passionate about what I create and my goal through pho tography is to inspire all I come in contract with to know just how beautiful, unique and valuable they are. I have been reaching out for this goal for almost four years, with every passing day it becomes more of a joy to create pieces of art for every one of my clients that truly make them feel beautiful and valued. https://www.facebook.com/rosettaannphotography See more of Rosetta's work on pages 86 through 89 in this issue.
