FROM THE EDITOR... IT’S A NEW DAY!! Dave Stabley Editor / Publisher L ast month MN CliQ Magazine celebrated its One Year Anniversary. In that issue I alluded to some changes and additions that would be coming in the new year, and I am elated to announce...they are here! First, something that should appeal to almost everyone: PHLEARN!! Beginning in this issue we will be sharing photography and Photoshop tutorials created by Aaron Nace and his team at Phlearn (pg. 94). I have been a Phlearn subscriber for years, and their in-depth tutorials can show you how to master some of the most difficult problems you may come up against while shooting, and editing your images. I highly recommend them. On a more “global” note, I am introducing a new feature this month called “Compositor’s Corner.” Unlike our regular features which utilize images from New Mexico artists exclusively, Compositor’s Corner will be spotlighting this art form from contributors around the world. As part of that, NM CliQ Magazine has arranged with Jesús Ramirez of the PhotoshopLearningChannel.com to present some of his compositing training. The first of those training classes is included in this issue (pg. 10). I am proud and honored to say that as part of the “Compositor’s Corner” we have a couple of submissions by Andrea Costantini (pgs. 18-19). If that name is not familiar to you, perhaps you are acquainted with his on-line magazine “Photographize” (www.photographize.org). It is a wonderful, artsy, thoroughly amazing magazine that I think you will love, and just like NM CliQ Magazine, it’s free to read. Warmer weather is here, and with it comes some of the best group shoots of the year. I have heard of one that involves a trip to “Arches,” which should produce some phenomenal images!! I am always looking to feature work from these collaborations, so if you get something good, be sure to share it here. Keep the “Little Black Dress” shots coming, we love them! If you are a photo compositor yourself, send in some of your best creations to be included in the next issue. The themes for next month are: Summer Solstice, Fathers, Bikinis, Beaches and just about anything else that has to do with Summer. Remember, you can’t be in NM CliQ Magazine unless you actually submit your work. Until next month, COLLABORATE, it makes great art!
