Dance is an extremely interesting form of expression. Unlike a painting, movement is a medium that is alive - not figuratively. Unlike a song, a dancer cannot make a sound traditionally. Unlike a play, ballet does not need a story, a problem, a plot - only emotion. It is because of these qualities I, and millions of other people on this earth, have chosen to devote our hearts to this form of art. It is the exchange of feelings between the movement, the mover, and the watcher: pain, frustration, triumph, anger, sadness, and love that makes dance so extraordinary. It is through the desire to capture the passions of mankind that we attempt to express them. ~Louisa Belian
