y now, the news is out. Unless you have been away from your
computer for the last few weeks, you are aware that Mitch
Tillison, founder, organizer, leader and driving impetus behind
the group, Collaborative Photo Shoots New Mexico (CPSNM)
has stepped down and handed off the reins to his successor,
Laura Beck. Those of us who have been affilliated with the
group since its inception, and understand the incredible amount
of time and energy Mitch put into making CPSNM the truly
successful, talent-filled group it is, have nothing but admiration
and respect for all he has given to get us where we are today.
The photo on the left is from the first time I had ever met Mitch
in person...he had organized a very large collaborative shoot
in the Bosque in November 2014. He is sitting in a swing he
installed in the middle of the woods to use as a prop for his
photos. Although he “claimed” he was just testing it to be sure
it was safe for the models, the expression on his face shows
it was so much more than that. The man was having fun,
doing what he loves to do...take great pictures, and share that
experience with fellow photographers and models.
You have a great many friends, and admirers Mr. Tillison. We are deeply in your debt for the fine
organization that you created, nurtured, and supported with your tireless efforts. I believe I speak
for the entire group when I say “Thank you!” to an incredible organizer, a great photographer, and
a dear friend. See you at the next shoot Mitch!
Going forward, Laura you have some really BIG shoes to fill
