FROM THE EDITOR... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US!! Dave Stabley Editor / Publisher T hey say the first year is the hardest (whoever “they” are), and I certainly hope they are right, because our first year is now behind us and NM CliQ Magazine is still going strong! Subscriptions are up, readership is up, and you may notice our first-ever ad in this issue (sure, it’s my own personal ad, but the trend has to start somewhere.) If our readers are a demographic you would like to appeal to, at an incredibly low price, sizes, positions and rates are listed on page 79. I am elated to announce that as of the first of April, I have “officially” retired from my corporate Marketing position, and will now focus (no pun intended), full-time on photography and the magazine. Hopefully, this will give me the time I have always wished for, to elevate my photo skills, make new contacts and bring you even more insightful and in depth information and expert training. The new feature we began last month seems to be gaining popularity - LDB, or Little Black Dress, is definitely here to stay for a while. I expect a lot of new submissions for inclusion in that feature in the coming months. Another new thing I would like to try is a feature on “compositing”...taking several images and combining them to create something new. Lots of photographers have done it to some extent, like changing out a plain, blah sky with one that is more dramatic to perk up the photo. Others have taken it to the level of art by using disparate individual components and combining them artistically to create a scene, or to put a person in a place that just wasn’t there. If you are a compositor, submit some of your favorite pieces for consideration. Let’s see what kind of art is being created. Since compositing is typically not a collaborative exchange, I am going to open this feature up to the world - if you know someone who is good at this, but lives out of the area, have them submit anyway! Until next month, COLLABORATE, it makes great art! Dave Stabley Editor/Publisher NM CliQ Magazine www.nmcliq.com 6 NM CliQ Magazine | April 2016 ANNIE WASN’T HERE Composite by: Dave Stabley
