56 NEW JERSEY COPS ■ MAY 2014 Local 138 is ready to tee off On Monday, July 14, Sussex County Local 138, representing officers from Byram Police, Hamburg Police, Newton Police, Stanhope Police and the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office, will be hosting its golf outing at the Crystal Springs Golf Resort’s Black Bear Course located at 138 Route 23 in North Franklin. The day will start with registration at 7:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 9 a.m. in a four-person scramble format. There will be an awards presentation as well as a lunch buffet featuring beer and soda following the day’s action. Cost for the day is $145 per person or $580 per foursome. Hole sponsorships are also available. The first 64 paid golfers will receive a free weekday round of golf at Crystal Springs’ Great Gorge Course, and all registered golfers paid prior to July 1 will be entered in a special raffle. Contact the Local for more information. d New Milford Local 83 teams up an Eagle Scout Billy Duby refurbished New Milford’s VFW memorial for his Eagle Scout project, and Local 83 proudly donated to assist with his project, which included rebuilding the memorial, installing a paver pathway and landscaping around the memorial. Duby graduated from Paramus Catholic High School, was captain of the wrestling team and is now attending Sacred Heart University and is a member of the school’s wrestling team.
